A full day on Costa Rica's Pacuare River

Paddle approximately 30 km through rainforest and the Pacuare gorge on a
guided Class III–IV whitewater trip. The day includes an early hotel
transfer, breakfast, safety instruction, about three hours on the river,
lunch and transportation back to Adventure Inn.

What the rafting involves

Guides fit your helmet and life jacket, explain paddle commands and
practice emergency procedures before launching. Everyone paddles and must
respond quickly to the guide. You will get completely wet and should be
prepared for strong rapids, swimming risk, slippery ground and several
hours of physical participation.

Early sections are generally Class II–III before the stronger Class III–IV
gorge. River level changes with rain, so the route, timing and
minimum requirements may change for safety.

Meals and changing facilities

Breakfast is served at the rafting base. After rafting,
use the showers and changing rooms before lunch and the return transfer.
The current supplier includes transport, guides, rafting equipment and
insurance.

Minimum age is 12. No previous rafting experience is required, but you
should be comfortable in moving water, able to paddle and follow commands,
and free of conditions that make strenuous whitewater unsafe. Disclose
relevant medical issues before reserving.
