Pacuare Rafting and Onward

  • Difficulty: Class II, III-IV
  • Distance: 30 kms / 18 miles
  • Number of rapids: 40
  • Approximate river time: 4 hours including lunch
  • Minimum age: 12 years

Start this tour at either (a) Adventure Inn, or (b) your hotel on the southern Caribbean coast or (c) your hotel in the Arenal Volcano / La Fortuna area, and finish the tour at another of the three (a), (b) or (c) choices, moving forward, not backtracking. This way you get a great tour and not waste a day traveling!

A full breakfast is included before rafting. The Pacuare River gives you the ultimate blend of wilderness and excitement. Rio Pacuare is world-famous for its pristine beauty. Being a true river gorge it is flanked by steep green walls of primary rainforest. Waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly overhead. The wildlife is abundant, with sloths, toucans, parrots, coatis, butterflies and colorful frogs being common sights. And the white water is even more exciting; a large number of consistent class III and IV rapids with short rest breaks in between over a thirty-kilometer stretch makes the Pacuare River unsurpassed in the world of whitewater rafting, and a cherished memory for you.

During the descent down the Pacuare, we will stop to enjoy a riverside lunch at the most beautiful beach on the river. After negotiating tight gorges and slippery slopes, we finally finish in Siquirres at our own private Exploration Center, where you can take a hot shower, change, have a cold beverage, enjoy, and buy if you wish, a video of your trip and reflect with your new friends about the great adventure you just shared.

Bi-lingual guides, all necessary equipment and a brief training session to familiarize you with the procedures are all included, safety is always the priority - only $99 + tax per person!
